When people use a jet-air dryer, the germs or microbes get blown off and spread around the toilet room. In effect, the dryer creates an aerosol that contaminates the toilet room, including the dryer itself and potentially the sinks, floor and other surfaces.
If anyone touches these germ covered surfaces, they risk becoming contaminated by bacteria or viruses. On the other hand, paper towels absorb the water and microbes left on the hands and if they are disposed of properly, there is less potential for cross-contamination or spread of infections.
The way to protect yourself is not to touch too many items or objects in a public toilet; and after hand washing, instead of an air dryer, use a paper towel. If you have to use an air dryer, use an alcohol based hand sanitizer after drying the hands.
